I just thought I'd mention that The Greatest Game Ever Played is coming out on Friday. I loved Fraility so I can't to see more of Bill's directorial work. Not to mention I think Shia LeBoeuf is a brilliant actor (and a good looking gent).

Bill Paxton had one of the main roles in the movie Aliens directed by James Cameron. I have made a few colorbars, including Paxton's character, Hudson.

This week on TV... [04 Jan 2005|02:49pm]

Hey everybody! I just wanted to give a heads up to what's on television. On Wednesday Weird Science plays on AMC at 10:15 and at midnight Saturday Night Live, hosted by Bill Paxton plays on E!

All times are Central, check your local listings for availability. Anyone have any ideas for what to do on this community?

Also, has anyone done any Bill icons that are up for grabs? I'd love to have one.

Fav Movie [17 Dec 2004|10:30pm]

Oy, I really only found Bill Paxton a few years ago, but since have made it my mission to collect as many movies of his as possible. Which, through Ebay is really pretty easy. So my picks (some of which haven't been mentioned yet)

1. Indian Summer. First of all, Bill gets some speedo action. And second, Bill gets some speedo action. Naw, really it's a cute movie about trying to find your way in life. And Bill gets the girl.

2. Frailty. A film directed by Paxton. It's a neat idea, but matthew McConaughey is not my favorite actor in the world. It's great to watch with the director's commentary on.

3. A Bright Shining Lie. So I also enjoy watching war movies. Bill's character is a slut in this movie, but if they would have just listened to him, they could have ended Vietnam a lot sooner.

I'm really glad there are other people around here!

Im a HUGE fan of Bill Paxton.

Im not sure I have a favourite though...he was amazing in Twister! The first Bill Paxton movie I ever saw. If I wasnt a fan of his before...I was then!

I loved him in that Arnie movie....can't remember the name now...but he played some guy they thought was a spy! *sniggers* Obvously, I loved him in Thunderbirds. The screen time he had in that movie...and the *way* he played Jeff....*squeals* and amazing actor all round!

And who could forget Vertical Limit? DUDE! That guys *knows* how to play a villain!

Give him nay role and he'll perform!

My Bill Paxton Movie... [31 Aug 2004|12:03pm]

Is Apollo 13.

Apollo 13 is my movie in more ways than one. It was the same movie that inspired me to be an astronaut. I'm also a big Tom Hanks fan. Hehe.

Anyway, I'd probably seen plenty of Bill Paxton before then, but at the time, Tom Cruise was still my main man. I just remember sitting in the theater and seeing him.

I remember saying afterwards, "that guy playing Fred Haise was pretty cute. By the way, I want to be an astronaut now." Hah! What a joyus 15 year old I was!

Anyway. I found out what his name was and everything, then, in Science class I saw him in Twister.

Lets just say after that movie, it was LOVE. LMAO. Now, as soon as I find out he's in a film, I'll go watch it or buy the DVD. So, believe me, when my daughter started raving about how she wanted to see "Thunderbirds" I did not argue. Hehe.

Anyway, that's my little story as I sit here and watch Apollo 13 for the 300000000000th time :)

My Top 5 Bill Paxton Performances/Appearances (IMHO) [30 Aug 2004|10:29pm]

Just a little something to get the ball rolling...

5.  Titanic--Even though he only appeared for but a few short blessed minutes, it made the movie, in my opinion.  The shrieking fangirls can all have Leo--I'll take my Bill Paxton any day!

4.  Twister--Occasional wince-inducing dialogue aside, one of the few movies that year that I actually paid money to see.  I would have paid much cash money to have been in Helen Hunt's shoes!  I still have the Entertainment Weekly magazine on which he appears on the cover to promote Twister

3.  The Tonight Show with Jay Leno--Bill Paxton is sooo funny in real life, too!  Well, if you consider TV interviews to be 'real life.'  Jay Leno always has him on for two segments by himself, and he never fails to be hilarious.  He always talks about his family on the show, his father in particular.  Apparently Bill Paxton's dad is in a Viagra commercial.

2.  Apollo 13--He is Fred Haise.  I love when he has to spit his gum into the tech's hand like a naughty schoolboy as he's getting suited up.  My favorite movie of all time, right there.

1.  Tombstone--Bill Paxton as Morgan Earp--the performance that stole my heart and introduced me to his excellent wonderfulness:

"Look at all the stars. You look up and you think, 'God made all this and He remembered to make a little speck like me.' It's kind of flattering, really."

Awwwww....

And when Morgan Earp died...*sniff*

What do y'all think?  What are your favorites?
